BALANCING MACHINES (Dynamic & Static)
15 lb. Hofmann #MTB5.2, tool balancer, 15# max.weight, 10"dia. x 13"H max.

(1) Used American Hofmann Model MTB-5.2 Tool Balancer

1.1 Machine housing, floor model, with suspension system, and including:
1.1.1 Force measuring transducers
1.1.2 Balancing spindle specially designed to accept 40 taper toolholders.
1.1.3 Angle graduations in 10 increments, mounted to the spindle face
1.2 One infinitely variable, fractional horsepower DC motor, base speed 1750 RPM; regenerative                   braking, and multi-round belt drive to spindle
1.3 Automatic measuring cycle
1.4 Electrical cabinet mounted to machine base, completely wired to JIC Standards
1.5 Available measuring instrumentation:

HD Plus microprocessor electronic with electronic zeroing and autoranging (see attachment for additional information)

Electronic zeroing (compensator) of the initial unbalance of a rotor to simplify checking of machine calibration.

Auto ranging: Depending on the unbalance level, the electronic switches automatically to the appropriate sensitivity level for proper display of amount and angle reading.

Component Balancing: Where correction must be accomplished only at specific locations, this software provides the ability to divide the unbalance into components related to those known specific locations. The system provides a range of 2 to 99 components and has an offset angle function for each plane to correctly position weights.

50 Rotor Memories: Rotor memories to store set up, balancing parameters, and indexing information for each rotor.

Remote Angle Display
Hardware and program to enable actual location of rotor to be tracked after measuring. Provides simple       and accurate positioning information to ensure exact location of position required for unbalance             correction

Split Components
Display of correction angles for 2 equal pre-determined correction weights, such as the "ring weights"       used with the High Velocity toolholders

8 run averaging
Software to print the eight runs and the vector average on a Polargraph screen.

Remount error compensation (nilling)
to electronically compensate for minor tooling errors to eliminate requirement for mechanically biasing       the tooling

1.6 Safety guard, electrically interlocked
